A 35yo woman died today at Parc St-Paul. She was ejected from a roller coaster called Coaster Formule 1. However, the cause of death is a heart attack. It seems the lap bar was not designed to handle large bodies. Park owner bought the attraction in Russia for EUR 800k. Following an accident, the park made changes amounting to EUR 400k.

Six Flags New Orleans to reopen under Nickelodeon brand.
Six Flags New Orleans has been closed since Katrina. It will reopen as Nickelodeon Universe-New Orleans in late 2010. The deal involves Southern Star Amusements and the parent company of the Nickelodeon cable TV network. The development will run between USD 165m and USD 170m. Many of the existing rides will be renovated and new rides and water-based attractions will be added to the park. Under terms of the agreement, Southern Star Amusements will lease the property from the city of New Orleans and pay Nickelodeon a licensing fee. The construction and renovation will be financed by private investors and by special bonds approved by the federal government after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans in 2005.

The Disneyland Paris winter 09/10 brochure reveals that Hotel Cheyenne and Hotel Santa Fe will segregate their rooms. Put simply, rooms near the services building or near the river will be more expensive. The "upgrade" will cost between EUR 8 and EUR 16 / night / room.
